On Sunday, 15th September 2024, the Office of Tibet in Brussels had the great honor of organizing a profound lecture by Venerable Geshe Lhakdor, the esteemed Director of the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives, and a former English translator for His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.
The event brought together the teachers and staff from two weekend schools, the Tibetan Cultural Center and Sherab Nangchen, as well as the youth from the Tibetan community in Belgium.
In the morning session, Venerable Geshe Lhakdor delivered a captivating talk on “The Methods for Achieving Happiness in This Life and the Next through Buddhist Teachings.” His insightful guidance deeply resonated with the audience, emphasizing the timeless wisdom of Buddhism as a path to cultivate lasting peace and happiness.
The afternoon session focused on “The Way to Achieve Happiness in This Life through SEE Learning,” where Venerable Geshe Lhakdor introduced the Social, Emotional, and Ethical (SEE) Learning framework, a modern educational approach rooted in compassion and mindfulness. The session was followed by a lively question-and-answer discussion, allowing participants to further explore the teachings and apply them to their personal lives.
This event was of great significance to the Tibetan community, providing invaluable knowledge and tools for both educators and youth to navigate life’s challenges with wisdom, compassion, and emotional resilience.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Venerable Geshe Lhakdor La and the Office of Tibet in Brussels
