The Tibetan Cultural Center in Belgium provides language and cultural education to Tibetan children across the country.
TCC aims not only to support young children but also to empower adults who are inspired to contribute to our community.
Since 2021, we have celebrated the graduation of our first class of students, followed by the second and third cohorts. Building on this milestone, we have initiated programs specifically designed for our young adults to further engage and inspire them in preserving our heritage and serving the community.
In 2023, the inaugural class of Jamyang Lophel School graduates embarked on a transformative journey to Dharamsala, immersing themselves in Tibetan culture and heritage. The trip, culminating in a profound meeting with His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Ladakh, inspired our students to embrace service and responsibility toward their community. His Holiness’ wisdom reaffirmed our mission to empower the next generation of Tibetan leaders, instilling hope and determination for the future.
The first and second graduate students are now volunteer teachers, contributing to the education of younger students. Some have even become board members of TCC this year. The third cohort of graduates is currently undergoing a year-long training program. They attend sessions every weekend, assisting teachers while learning and observing how lessons are conducted. They take detailed notes during each lesson to enhance their understanding.
A special guest teacher, Khenpo Tseirng Tashi la, has been providing them with training in language and grammar, further enriching their skills. We are committed to continuing this initiative, as we firmly believe it strengthens Tibetan culture and community.
On December 21st, we celebrated our eight bright young graduates by inviting them to a special lunch. Although it was a small gesture, it left a meaningful impact, inspiring them to continue their dedication to serving the community.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to ICT and Wangpo Tethong la for sponsoring this lunch, which made the occasion even more memorable.
ICT has always been a steadfast supporter of TCC’s initiatives and activities. Their continued encouragement and assistance play a vital role in strengthening our efforts to preserve Tibetan culture and empower our community.
